Rapidlogger Customers and Case Studies
Rapidlogger Systems has been building oilfield job recorders in Stafford, Texas for 20 years, and the units we shipped in our first years are still at work. The three stories below are typical of how our customers use the equipment: a single unit bought for one cement pump, a fleet standardised across an international service company, and a Texas acidizing contractor that has fitted every pump with one. The full list of companies using Rapidlogger products follows, by region.
Serial number 1: eighteen years on a cement pump in Venezuela
Customer: CPVen, an oilfield cementing company in Venezuela
Service: cementing
Installed: May 2008, Rapidlogger System serial number 1
CPVen was our first customer. In May 2008 they bought a Rapidlogger System and installed it on one of their cement pumps. That unit, serial number 1, is still in use today, eighteen years later.
Nothing about the installation was special, which is the point. A standard cementing job recorder powers the pressure, rate and density sensors on the pump, shows the pressure, rate and density information on its integrated display, records the job to a memory card and sends the data to the RapidVu PC software for the job report. There is no PC in the recorder to fail, no hard drive and no operating system to update. The electronics sit in a NEMA 4X box rated from -40C to 70C, and this one has been through eighteen years of pump vibration and tropical heat.
Units from that first production run are still supported. The firmware, the RapidVu software and the tech notes on this site apply to them, and when a customer wants to move up to the current generation we offer a discount on the upgrade.

OilSERV: from a conference conversation to a fleet of more than 50 units
Customer: OilSERV, oilfield services company with operations across the Middle East and North Africa
Service: cementing and fluid pumping
Installed: first unit in 2014, more than 50 Rapidlogger units in service today
We met OilSERV at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston in May 2014. They were impressed enough by the system on the stand to visit our office in Stafford the same week, and they left with a standard cementing Rapidlogger System from our fast-ship inventory. Once it was installed, the ease of use and the ruggedness of the unit exceeded their expectations, and OilSERV has since standardised on Rapidlogger for its cementing and fluid pumping operations.
OilSERV now has more than 50 Rapidlogger units operating in the field with OilSERV/OilTech Iraq, OilSERV Saudi Arabia, OilSERV Kuwait, OilSERV Libya, OilSERV Algeria, and OilSERV Tunisia. Every unit records the same channels in the same file format, so a job file from any of these countries opens in the same RapidVu software and produces the same report for the operator.
The OilSERV fleet is not limited to data acquisition. OilSERV also uses the RapidDCC automatic density control system, which controls the mixing of the cement slurry automatically so the operator does not have to keep adjusting the water and bulk feed rates, and the RapidVQI volumetric quality indicator, which gives a live indication of slurry quality on light cement slurries where density alone does not tell the whole story. Both run on the same Rapidlogger hardware as the job recorder.

Standard systems for cementing, fracturing, pumping, coiled tubing and wireline units are kept in fast-ship inventory. Contact us for current lead times.
Acidizing Technology: more than 20 recorders on acid pumping units in Midland, Texas
Customer: Acidizing Technology, acid stimulation contractor in Midland, Texas
Service: acidizing
Installed: first systems in 2015, more than 20 Rapidlogger systems in operation today
Acidizing Technology started using the Rapidlogger acidizing system in 2015 and has been extremely satisfied with its reliability. They use the recorders on every job and now have more than 20 systems in operation on their acid pumping units.
An acid job is a pumping job with a corrosive fluid, so the recorder lives outside, on the pump skid or the truck, next to the pump. The Rapidlogger is mounted in its enclosure within reach of the operator at the control panel, powers the pressure and rate sensors on the pump, and records pump pressure, pump rate and total volume for the job report in the acid pump mode. The same unit can be switched to cementing or general pumping from the keypad, and the single-pump Rapidlogger Mini covers the smaller acid trucks.
