About Rapidlogger Systems

Rapidlogger Systems designs and builds rugged data acquisition and job monitoring systems for oilfield service equipment. The company was established 20 years ago by a group of experienced oilfield instrumentation engineers, and it is still run by engineers. Our office, engineering and production are at 10700 Corporate Drive in Stafford, Texas, on the south-west side of Houston, and our systems are at work on cementing, fracturing, coiled tubing, slickline, wireline, workover and drilling units in North and South America, Africa and the Middle East.

What we make

Every Rapidlogger product starts from the same idea: a recorder that runs on its own, in the cab or on the skid, without a PC, and still gives the office a complete job file. The Rapidlogger unit powers the sensors, displays the readings, runs the calculations, records the job to a memory card and sends the data to a PC, a data van or the cloud. Around it we build the pieces a service company needs:

How we build

The Rapidlogger hardware runs a real-time operating system on a rugged microprocessor, so a unit is on and recording seconds after power-up and cannot crash during a job. High-speed sampling and digital signal processing remove pump pulsation from the recorded traces. Enclosures are NEMA 4X, the electronics are rated from -40C to 70C, and the units are built, tested and calibrated in Stafford. Hazardous-area versions are ATEX certified for Zone 2 (II 3 G Ex nA IIC T5 Gc, certificate ITS15ATEX48263X issued by Intertek) and CE marked. The ATEX certificate, the user manuals in English, Spanish and Arabic and every datasheet are on this site.

Because we write the firmware and the PC software ourselves, the system talks to the rest of the wellsite in the formats the industry uses: WITS, MODBUS, OPC, CAN bus and plain ASCII and CSV files that open in Excel. The same unit can be switched between cementing, fracturing, coiled tubing, slickline, wellhead and drilling modes from its keypad.

Our team

We are a team of 25 engineers, technicians and support staff. The people who answer support questions are the people who designed the hardware and wrote the software. We also take on custom instrumentation projects: special sensors, pump-unit manufacturer fits, cab displays and data interfaces for customers who need something the catalogue does not cover.

Support

All support is by email, WhatsApp and live video streaming, so a technician on location can show us the unit and the wiring and we can walk through the setup together, in any time zone. Firmware, the RapidVu software, the Rapidlogger Utility and the manuals are free downloads. Our library of tech notes covers installation, calibration, troubleshooting and the setup of each operating mode, many of them in Spanish, and the FAQ page answers the most common questions. Existing customers get free diagnostic simulators and a discount when upgrading an older unit to the current generation.

Customers

Rapidlogger products are trusted by cementing, pumping, well-testing, coiled tubing, wireline and drilling companies in the United States, South America, Africa and the Middle East, as well as by pump-unit manufacturers who fit our systems at the factory. The customer list on the home page names many of them.
